Happy Dude

Granted, I don't look all that happy. I rarely do. Hell, that's just me. The past decade has taken its toll. Be that as it may, I feel a bit o' glee all the same. This evening, my hair "stylist" informed me I still have enough follicles that no bald spot is visible.

That may not mean that much to many/most.

It certainly means little-to-nothing to the vibrant young.

OK.

Vanity reigns in the province of the decrepit.

Still, it kinda makes me smile.

I've lost SO much. But I still gots me my hair.

It may not be much.

But it's something.

Well, Jonas, if dog below is your most recent nemesis you're doing okay on two fronts -- two shaggy haired beasts looking natural and you're well matched in speed as well. Even in dog years I suspect the four-legged one is younger than you. By the way, your writing in that post was excellent.

Jonas, I do believe you are doing well, not because you've hair, but because you've spirit.

You look like a rocker from the good ol days. It's nice to have something to hang your hat on...literally. (I feel like dancing too!)

You have a lovely mane, Jonas... and I am very glad you're not thinning on top. There's nothing worse than a balding man with long hair down the back - the proverbial 'skullet'!

As long as you are happy on the inside, the outer shell will radiate some of that.

Thank you June. The missile definitely exuded youthful vigor. Me? Not so much.

Awwww, thank you, Erin. My spirit tends to vacillate nowadays. It's not the raging fire it once was.

I prefer to think of myself as "quaint."

"Skullet"! Hah! Never heard that term before, but it's so apt!

Truth be told, I'm generally happier on the inside than I outwardly appear. The exterior reflects the ravages. The interior is home to quaint sprites.

This prodigious manifestation of the follicles within is most fetching.

My follicles are blushing, Kass.

Is that good or bad, Lilith?

Thank you, Gabi. I'm trying.

Dashing, Selma? Not so much. Mostly just eccentric.

My vanity has taken quite a pounding this past decade, Scott. I'm clutching shreds.

Oh, now look what you've gone and done, Anna...my hats don't fit!

That's sweet, Maria. Would there were more like you...

I hope so, Tereza. (And welcome! Drop by anytime)
