I was never all that big a fan of Toto in their heyday (but, yeah, I got all the vinyl). Even so, I've grown to admire Steve Lukather (the lead guitarist) over the years.
This video was produced during Toto's farewell tour in 2008 (shot in Paris).
Toto is no more.
Roads! Glad you dropped by! I never could quite figger out how Rosanna Arquette inspired this song, but she did...and I'm glad.
Ah, Roads, how I wish we can spend a night tossin' down fine cognacs and chattin' 'bout music!
I never could figure out how Rosanna Arquette inspired such passion. Granted, I admire that tight body, but beautiful music!?!
Steve Porcaro left the band ages ago. His brother, Jeff, is still beating the drums on this video.
While I didn't fall in love with the band initially, I gotta say, their farewell tour video (decades later) blew me away.
Steve Lukather's bitterness resonates in subsequent interviews when he reflects that the band never achieved true acclaim in America, but was wildly popular the world over (the video was shot in Paris).
If you have the chance, try to get your hands on this video of their final tour. It'll blow you away.

I always liked Toto. Even bought one of their vinyl records.
A guilty pleasure, this song.
Rosanna Arquette in Desperately Seeking Susan.
I kissed the rains down in Africa. But in my mind, I kissed Rosanna, too.

According to my memory of urban legend, and as confirmed by Wikipedia, Arquette went out for a time with Toto member Steve Porcaro.
I wasn't a big fan of Toto either -- I only had that red Toto IV album -- but those two songs did have something special.

The musicianship is breathtaking.
