Winter Landscape

Long past midnight

A peek outside to revel in soft white

Snowflakes drift and tumble

Squirrels dream deliciously

Safely high on mast

Hearts blessed

Don't talk to me about how beautiful winter is today. I'm so sick of snow, I have piles that are literally six feet high along my driveway, the roads are barely passable and god forbid you slow down or stop, you'll be stuck.

Thanks for letting me bitch:)

"...safely high on mast,"
I view this,
read this,'
feel the icy mist
as I float there.

Yesterday I woke to a blanket of snow as light and feathery as down, that floated away on the breeze created by a body's passing. It tumbled into fluffy balls as it rolled away and spilled towards the ground, only to float and drift lazily on it's way down. It was gorgeous!

I'm just glad we've had very little snow since the massive dumping we got in November. We're ripe for serious spring flooding and more snow will only compound that.

What was the term you used???..."I cribbed it"? I'm using this as my computer wallpaper today. Is that water behind the trees? There are six little lights there across the lake. One of them is the cabin I wish to own :) The one you can barely see, off to the right. It has a large porch, with rockers and benches enough for all. A distillery around back of course. Oh please, can't I win the lottery?

Cozyin' in. Yes.

I rather enjoy winter snows, Lilith. Then, again, I no longer have to commute anywhere specific, daily. Makes a difference, I know.

Floating is good, Kass. But, then...you already knew that.

Oh, how I love snow as soft as confectioner's suger!

I, too, have my idyllic fantasies, Annie! Mebbe they'll be realized. Mebbe not. No matter. Dreams keep me warm at night.

Thank you, Selma. I contemplate the squirrels' nests in the trees around me and can't help but wish sweet dreams for their occupants as the raw winds whip the snow.
