Limping Along
Ah, what a day!
The months/weeks/days were so dreary and bleak
Then came warmth from God knows where
Clouds parted and sun blushed radiant
Temperature climbed extraordinarily...veritably soared
Such that windows begged to be flung open
And they were
Children shrieked catapulting ‘cross emerald grass
Neighbors called my name...
Smiled and waved
Sweat soaked dirty shirt as I walked
Well, limped
Limped ‘til I couldn’t bear the pain
Far enough to feel the pleasure.

Time to get that bicycle out again??? I'm waiting for weather like that... and until after I move. Then I am footloose and will be walking lots. No cycling for me this summer, with my shoulder.
I was out of my apartment like a shot first thing this morning to attempt my version of a "run" by the lake. These last couple of days - after the winter we've had - have been irresistable.
I'm so glad you were able to enjoy them as well.
Love the images of windows being flung wide, children frolicking, and neighbors calling your name. It all smacks of that wonderful stretch of weather that knocks on your door and asks, "Can Jonas Come on out and play?"
Glad you said yes.
Glad out are getting the weather now to get out an walk. I just got back from one myself - so wonderful to be out of winter.
There is something about windows being flung open that fills me with joy. It is such a hopeful gesture. I love it. To me it means the warm weather is a-coming!
The fur faces are enjoying the fact I can leave the front door open for moments of time... without having to towel down the muddiness of being pups!
I loved these comments! Sigh.
Unfortunately, that incredible day was succeeded by what can only be described as "dismal."
I gotta say, this loitering winter has laid me low.
