These are very cool. I wonder, do you find that your mood dictae tes what music you listen to....or do you think the music affects your moods? I notice that I gravitate to certain types of songs at certain times - but the paradox is, music can alter the way I feel, as well, and can bring me up when I'm down....and visa versa.
I pretty much run on auto-pilot when it comes to music, Grace. I find my fingers pulling certain CD's from the shelves, without (often) knowing why. Music is my soul's litmus paper, my innermost thermometer...
then you must have a huge collection, because you have a huge soul.
on my way here to vegas, I had the chance to listen to quite a bit of music. I pulled the oddest CD out of my collection to listen to. It's the soundtrack from Braveheart (one of my favorite movies).
something about the music speaks to another 'something' that is so deep in my dna, I don't even know what to call it. perhaps it is the blood of my ancestors that answers the call, the lilt, the resonance of certain notes. Suddenly I was transported...and at one point, even had tears in my eyes - like my very cells were singing a song that bypassed my mind completely...
As it turns out, Grace, my music collection consists of...literally...thousands of CD's, tapes and albums. While that may be an indicator of the size of my soul, it's more likely that it's an indicator of the size of my wallet (once).
