Hearts Everywhere
It’s Valentine’s Day and I’m reminded there are hearts everywhere...
good and loving hearts. Oh, they may not be the happiest of hearts this moment, this day. Some may be feeling a bit beleaguered, a little tattered or somewhat torn. Some may be broken, others are worn, a few (or many) may be a mite lost...adrift...searching for safe harbor.
Still, the human heart is a magnificent thing. It beats on.
Hope clings to each and every beat.
Hope clings to each and every beat.

That was a really lovely piece on Valentine's Day, very poetic. I wanted to say something like that but couldn't find the words. I haven't heard the song before but I really liked it. Now I'm going to go and read some more of your blog.
Thank you, Selma. I hope you find something worthwhile among my blatherings. Thanks for stopping by.
A wildly entertaining though scary clip. I'll be out campaigning for Senator Obama as well as I believe he will carry us to a better America.
I confess, I'm laughing. For those of you who may not know, Reb is a cowboy extraordinaire who comes and goes and leaves comments on my blog on topics expressed on other blogs. In this specific case, I'll refer you to this:

We're talkin' politics here. You may or may not be interested.
Meanwhile, for anyone who wanders here, this Valentine's Day evening...well...a big kiss...
Mmmmm, and a big kiss back to you.
I think my heart has found a safe harbor.

Trying to leave a comment, but I am having some trouble...thought I would try one last time to say that I enjoyed you post and your poetry. Especially your choise of music.
Thank you, Ms. Shadowlands. I'm saddened that I couldn't find a better video/audio version of this song. It's quite remarkable. I urge everyone to find a clean rendition to revel in with the lights off, in complete darkness, with a bit of wine, perhaps...volume knob turned to "11."
In complete darkness, with a bit of wine...? It seems our thoughts are running parallel.
I'm a little late to collect that Valentine's Day evening kiss. Mind if I take it the morning after?
For you, Anna...a kiss...and a hug!
The heart is the most resilient organ. Just when you think it won't work anymore, it kicks into high gear.
It most certainly did in your case, Ms. Green-Eyes. I'm so happy for you!
Oh, I love hugs... giving and receiving them! Thank you. :)
I still stop here for kind reflections...
Your valentine comes at a cold time of year; here we were sweating with love and hoping for humidity to fade...
Ah, my Poet Princess, it's always a treat to have you drop by! Do Aussies celebrate Valentine's Day or a variant thereof?
Or do you all just keep sweating with love?
The depth of love is measured with the ruler of forgiveness.
"The depth of love is measured with the ruler of forgiveness."
Oh, I like that! So true.
Thank you.
Glad your heart and mind is in the world. Happy Belated V day.
Acacia
Thank you, Acacia! And allow me to send good thoughts and wishes to you, too.
Lovely picture.
"Lovely picture."
Not as compelling as a "12-inch Hawaiian" I'm sure...
Great words. Great scenery. Great rocks. And that white dress wasn't bad, either.
Thanks.
"Great rocks."
Ah...spoken like a true geologist!
Jonas, as usual, you can say so much with just a few words.
Awwwwwww...gee, thanks, Anon!
thrilled to have found you... looking forward to hearing what is goin on in your little corner of life....
hmmm...I gave my heart away some years ago but I'd quite like it back now...
Of course, it'll be completely mangled by this time. No good to anyone.
Belated hug and kiss :-)
I'm thrilled you found me, too, Ms. Paisley. I hope you come to find something of value among my musings.
Oh, Gigi, I would never sell any heart short. They're remarkably hardy things, these hearts of ours.
I was thinking of you today when I was belting out, "Afraid of change, afraid of staying the same..."
Does that mean I'm a good boy? If so, then why am I still wearing a hair shirt?
I didn't want to comment on this post because....mine is under lock and key....in self imposed solitary confinement for---who knows how long and anything heart related makes me...sad. (Hence my “Enough” post…) But it is a hopeful, lovely post none the less. You must know how much I love the last three posts you've written. I think you know/understand/live/breathe the potency of words; its chemistry and its solitude. I think you get it. But I've rambled now...
So, you're a drummer? Any musical suggestions for MY little drummer boy? I'm outa' my league on this...
Ah, Somegirl, I'm beginning to understand (I never claimed to be the brightest bulb in the chandelier...). Love can be an arduous trek, sometimes.
Thank you for your, too kind, words.
As for drumming? How much do you value your sanity? There are several inexpensive electronic drum pad systems on the market that can produce a variety of percussion sounds, and are loads of fun. BIG plus...the volume may be adjusted! Good luck with that!
