Twilight Fog

The day had warmed a bit, and the snow that had blanketed
the yards and fields began to disappear slowly. As vesper bells tolled and evening descended, a gentle fog enveloped all.

What else could this fog be, if not snowflake souls ascending?

That was one of the loveliest things I have ever heard. I have been transported.

Thank you, Flutter.

I'm afraid this prairie son can't help you, Ms. Paisley. Some questions can only be answered by one's self...

I hope you were transported to a gentle, enchanted place, Selma.

This reminds me of the funeral. The priest said that the rising incense is symbolic of our prayers accompanying his spirit as it rises to heaven.

Ah, Ms. Shadowlands, methinks it's because you're a gentle soul yourself. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

Yes, Anna, I was taught the same thing about the use of incense in religious ceremonies...a custom established in pre-history.

I love the scent of frankincense...one of the earliest and most profound scents of my youth. It transports me into spiritual reveries.

You must have had an emotionally arduous day. You, and your father, are in my thoughts.

Snowflake souls... that brings up another beautiful image in my mind. How sad it would be if snow were a living matter. What a strange existence...
