I Do So Love This
Love the song
The lyrics
The halting, plaintive voice
That catch in the throat
The sentiment
The truth of it
Yeah
Had me an angel or two
Gone and died
This broken heart
Needs an angel
(And I’m not alone in this)
Someone to pull me through
The midnight rain

We all need someone to see us through til morning.
Nice. Do you know the John Prine song, "Angel from Montgomery" (either his or Bonnie Raitt's version)?
That's the thing, isn't it, Yvonne? No matter how well we've lived, how fat the wallet, how grand the praise, none of that really matters if we don't have that someone to see us through til morning.
Yes, SAW, I rather like that song (Bonnie Raitt and John Prine actually toured together performing that song).
Yeah, just give me one thing I can hold on to/believe in...
(It just so happens I got a "John Prine encounter" story and a pretty darn satisfying Montgomery, Alabama story, too)
You just tripped all sortsa triggers...
Wow....never heard of the song or the singer but it brought tears to my eyes. Thanks, Jonas.
(would love to hear the stories)
(hello in there)
Such a great find. This too: thanks, Jonas!

This is what I need to hear right at this moment. Soft mellow music that touches the heart. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I wonder if love ever comes again after loss or heartache. I am 56 and being alone it seems like forever with no witness to my life events seems rather dull.
